Decopatch Bunny!

I started this decopatch bunny a little while ago and managed to finish it finally this bank holiday weekend! :)

Pretty! And I can also hide things inside it :)

I've also recently started a second Instagram stream. This new one is for random stuff, whereas the one I already had is for my photography hobby.

30th Birthday Gift

Hi there!

I had my 30th birthday this month...I celebrated it in Prague with my husband. We had a fantastic time and it was a wonderful place. I would like to go back again one day.

I just wanted to show you what my talented mother made me for my birthday! My mum has recently got back into sewing again after many years. She said it's because I've been having a go at some sewing and it inspired her to start up again. Nice to know I inspired someone :-)

Here are the pics...

Brilliant hey? Lot's of bunnies too, my mum knows me well!

Prague photo's to follow in the next post...

Monkey Business

Hope you have been having a nice easter. Unfortunately the easter bunny didn't give me any easter eggs this year, he gave me a cold instead :-( I've mostly been curled up at home watching tv but I managed to drag myself out to Preston city centre today. I went to fabric shop Abakhan and had a good rummage through their bargain craft cottons. I got some nice colourful fabrics...

Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet though :-)

A little while ago I also got these fabrics from Fabric Rehab...

So I have plenty of fabric, now I just need to decide what to make with it!

I actually did a sewing project last weekend. I made this monkey...

I got the pattern from here.

Anyway, hopefully my cold will be gone soon and in time for my holiday :-) I'm off to Prague for my 30th birthday. Can't wait!

See you soon.

xXx

Decopatch and Days Out

Hello!

It seems to have been a busy year for me so far and it's going to be even busier for me next month with my 30th birthday coming up!

I've got all these creative projects I want to do but not finding the time to actually sit down and do them. I have done some decopatch which is really addictive, easy and fun to do. I've got a few decopatch projects in progress but here is a photo of something I've finished...

I gave this as a gift to my mum on mother's day. I also made a matching picture frame but didn't have time to photograph it before I gave it her.

I had a week off work at the end of February which was nice and had a few outings with my hubby. We went to Keswick in the Lake District and also Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire. We were really lucky with the weather and had blue skies and glorious sunshine.

Here is a photo I took of Derwent Water in Keswick which I just edited on PicMonkey :)

Monster!

Last weekend, my mum let me choose some fabric from a lucky dip bag of scrap fabric she bought. So with a piece of yellow gingham fabric I chose, I made this monster!

I used a tutorial I found online here. I changed a few things to make it easier to make. I used buttons for the eyes and embroidered brads to add some detail instead of sewing on a felt heart.

Last weekend, I also found a fantastic list of online fabric shops. You can find the list here!

Well I have the afternoon off work today so I think I will try my hand at some decopatch :)

Hibernating at Home

Hope you've been having a good new year. I've been hibernating at home mostly so far when I've not been at work. I work in a big office in a financial institution which is very busy over the Christmas period and new year. All I've felt like doing in an evening is curl up on the sofa with my hubby and the two bunnies and watch something good on tv. One of my favourite things on tv at this time of year is Got To Dance :) There is so much amazing talent on the show. I've also watched a lot of films. A couple of my favourites I've watched recently are War Horse and The Notebook. Both are emotional films with sad parts and happy parts.

Last year my hubby and I made a lot of home improvements. The main thing was getting our kitchen completely ripped out and redone. I had a tidy up recently and took some photos. It's soo much better than it used to be :)

I have done some sewing. I attempted to make a fabric case for my iPad but the design I used proved to be a bit too challenging for me at this stage. I will definately attempt to make it again when my sewing skills have improved :) In the meantime I have some new fabric to enjoy making simpler projects with...

I got the fabric from Fabric Rehab. I love this shop. I also had some more fabric delivered from them this morning. Yay!

Anyway, hopefully my next sewing project will be more successful and worth showing on here.

Ciao for now! :)
